It's a beautiful day! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

OK -- so I've already done several things this morning that I haven't done in a long time. First, I had a relatively late night and NO nap during the day, so I slept in. That was until I heard naughty Lexi, who spent the night outside, barking! That dog never barks! It must have been something very important.

After scolding her, I left her outside. Only to hear her barking again but in a different corner of the yard. I captured her and brought her in. She is NOT happy. Murphy went ballistic in the house, so if ...

Parade of Quilts Made with Friends from The Modern Diary

You have already seen my Pat Sloan Christmastime Mystery top, but I wanted to share Barb's and Becky's now that theirs are flimsies.
Above is Barb's and below is Becky's.  They all turned out so differently!  We have a weekly sewing appointment on Thursday afternoons (and sometimes meet up more) and it is so fun to sew along mostly on the same stuff, but sometimes on our own stuff.  We are all now working on finishing up Ruby Jubilee (some of us are copying Bonnie's version) and we will be working on the new Quiltville ...

Fall Sewing Going On! And a Little Bit of Christmas too! from The Modern Diary

I have wanted to make this wreath for a long time so I finally did!
First you sew it into squares and then you cut it all up and resew.  I need to quilt it but not sure what to do for that.

I put together a bunch of hst's together to make a table runner and was trying to add the zig zag border but think it is too much without a resting strip I stopped working on this one and am trying to figure out what to do it finish it.  May wind up being two different ...

Schoolgirl Sampler Show and Tell from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

We're down to the last month for all of the ongoing classes for 2021. And in an ideal world, all my quilt tops would be done! But alas, that's not happening, but I am close!

We had loads of fun at the Virtual REtreat last night, but I never even turned my sewing machine on! I was busy trimming quilts, and I have a few more to do today. I'd like to get them done as another group needs to be quilted this coming week. But I'm close to the end of the September/October batch ...

A quilting we will go................. from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Well, that was an issue yesterday! I had written the post about the UFOs the day before. But halfway through, I decided it wasn't the post I wanted to write that day. That rarely happens, and to avoid accidentally publishing the post, I set a day and time for it to post later. However, when I hit publish yesterday, I FORGOT to change the publishing date. So -- it didn't get posted at the usual time.

A few people alerted me to the fact, but I was just starting the embroidery software club by then, and the post had ...

Schoolgirl Sampler Show and Tell from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

The end of the year is fast approaching. I thought the other day -- just seven more weeks of craziness, and my schedule will calm down for December. And then the end of the year is here. I don't want to wish the time to go faster, so I'll enjoy those seven weeks of craziness.

It also means the year-long classes are ending, and I haven't kept up with the show and tell. So today, it's all about Show and Tell for the Schoolgirl Sampler.

There are loads of sampler quilts out there. Sometimes, the designer makes ...

Schoolgirl Show and Tell from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Today's the day!!!!  By the time you read this, I'll be merrily on my way to a sewing retreat. We are a small group, but that's OK. It's the diehards, to be sure. I booked this many, many months ago with a leap of faith that it would work out. And if it didn't? I rolled the dates. I've been doing a LOT of that lately, but hey - when things open up - we have a spot!

Hopefully, the internet will be good where we're going, and I'll be able to share what ...

A RIPPING good time from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Do you ever have one of those days where everything you sew just seems to go together wrong? Yep - that was yesterday!

I had a great day with the two classes and the demo. I do a lot of prep work to make the class a success, but the students really make the class. It's their "show and share" that we ooh and ah over. Their questions make the presentation that more interesting and I swear they try to stump me! So far, I'm doing not bad in the answering question department!

But what happened? Well, I was ...

Another sewing marathon completed from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Phew! I did the impossible. I am READY (well, almost) ready for the classes today. I had one last night, and everything was prepped for that. There are three today, and while I didn't quite get all the sewing done, I got enough to show what we're doing. There are a few more pictures to take this morning and add to one of the presentations.

I decided NOT to do the demo live. Nope - I took a bunch of pictures and videos yesterday. And I was on a work call for nearly three hours - that consumed a lot ...

Christmas in June and More from The Modern Diary

Finally got outside early one morning (to avoid the heat--which has now finally left us) to get a good picture of Wild and Goosey.  Thinking it might be big enough but...
I got started on some Christmas presents and made a tool belt for Bear, Hazel and some other little one.
Made several fun frogs and gave one to Jay since he admired it.  Will be giving one to Colton and one to Lily and one to who knows who.
On Monday my best friend Monica and her hubby came to visit (they went to a Brewer game Sunday and ...

A Patriotic Mini! from The Modern Diary

I joined Kathleen Tracy's Schoolgirl Sampler FB group and she picked this sweet top for our June sew.  It was fun to put together though I looked at it and made four of each block instead of three!  I figured out I was doing that after the first one, but figured I may as well do it for all of them and put those together too.
My roses made it through winter and are looking so good!  I went out and did some weeding a few weeks ago (not that you would know now) and so happy with these ...

Schoolgirl Sampler Show and Tell from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

The bandaid is back on - well, a new bandaid. Shortly after I finished the blog yesterday, I picked up something, opened up the cut, and it started to bleed like mad. GRR!!!  I'm sure it's probably OK this morning, but I'm doing not bad on the keyboard, so I'll leave it on for a bit longer!

I made my little road trip. OK -- I'm NOT good in the car. I have no idea why, but in the car - I get tired. I listened to an audiobook, and I chatted with my Dad for a bit ...

School Girl Sampler from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

OK -- it's time to get caught up on the homework show and tell and get the assignments out to the groups. Yesterday was a bit of a relaxed day, which was good as I really needed to lounge around for a bit. Wednesday was a bit of an intense day, and it takes me a bit to catch up. Thankfully, there's only one more crazy Wednesday in the forecast, and my goal is to get most of the prep work done this weekend.

I love the service that I received from Goeman's Appliances. The shopping experience was ...

The dinner table from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I don't know about your households, but DH and I are on our own for breakfast and lunch. I make my own breakfast and lunch, and usually eat it at the computer, or sometimes lunch at the table reading something. The other day, I even ate lunch at the table in the office (aka the dining room). But dinner is reserved for face to face conversation.

We chat about books and interesting articles that he finds in the newspapers. And there seem to loads these days on people finding a hobby. All they have to do is pick up ...
